More of the same from Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Guy Ritchie in this sequel which expands on the previous film by travelling across Europe. Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Robert Downey Jr. plays a more action-orientated Holmes in this film by Guy Ritchie, which co-stars Jude Law. Despite a lot of the locations being enhanced with computer graphics, they were still unable to find everything they needed in London, and so they also filmed in Kent, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Merseyside, and Greater Manchester.

Without a Clue (1988)

Starring Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley, this is a witty role-reversal riff on the Sherlock Holmes stories, in which Sherlock Holmes doesn't exist! Murder By Decree (1979)

A Canadian co-production with solid turns from an all-star cast. It stars Christopher Plummer as Holmes and James Mason as Watson. It's the only film on this list so far to be entirely filmed in London. The age of the film meant it could make use of some of London's seedier locations, which have now been redeveloped.
